The role of corporate procurement is to develop and facilitate the collaborative process of identifying and obtaining goods, services and works to support us in our delivery of 5 strategic outcomes:
- Early years and vulnerable young people
- Learning, life and work
- Environment and economy
- Safe, supportive communities
- Older people and people with long-term conditions
Annual Procurement Report and Regulated Contract Plan
The Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 requires contracting authorities to prepare and publish an annual procurement report on their regulated procurement activities as soon as reasonably practicable after the end of their financial year.
Regulated procurement is defined as procurement exercises for goods and services with a value of £50,000 or more and for works with a value of £2 million or more.
The Regulated Contract Plan contains details of anticipated regulated procurement opportunities for the financial period 2019 to 2021, and is included in the Annual Procurement Report.
Corporate Procurement Strategy 2019 to 2022
The Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act also requires us to develop a procurement strategy and review it annually.
Our Corporate Procurement Strategy 2019 to 2022 demonstrates how corporate procurement in East Renfrewshire plays a fundamental role in support the delivery of our strategic objectives.
Suppliers who win any major contract must commit to supporting local causes through community enhancement, training and employment opportunities, work placements, school curriculum support and business supply chain development.
Any community group can add their cause to our community benefits wish list. Contractors will be directed to the wish list when preparing their contract bid and upon contract award.
We're also required to maintain a register of contracts.
